Leveraging EA and IoT Synergy for Digital Transformation

Over the past few years, the business world across the globe has been witnessing a new kind of change. It is unique, it is disruptive, and more importantly it is constant. This change is about the transformation of an entire enterprise and its ecosystem. It encompasses the convergence of all the digital assets, devices, systems, and applications as well as communication technologies and networks any enterprise uses. We commonly refer to this change as “digital transformation.”

Enterprise Architecture for Digital Business: Integrated Transformation Strategies

Over the past three or so decades, enterprise architecture or EA has established itself as a discipline in almost all enterprises – large and small. Starting with the early work by John Zachman [1], and with the maturing TOGAF standards [2], EA frameworks have been embraced consistently within many organizations. The need for and usage of these EA frameworks have grown over time, as they help organizations handle complexities and diversity, as well as mitigate the associated risks of shifting computing paradigms.

Leveraging EA to Incorporate Emerging Technology Trends for Digital Transformation

CURRENT STATE OF THE EA UNION Starting with the early work by John Zachman,1 and with the maturing TOGAF standards,2 enterprise architecture (EA) has become a primary discipline within any organization. The need for and usage of these EA frameworks have grown over time, as they help organizations handle complexities and diversity, as well as mitigate the associated risks of shifting computing paradigms. EA is commonly understood as a bird’s-eye view of an organization’s IT paraphernalia (including systems, applications, networks, and security). Such an all-encompassing model of an organization’s IT assets and how they all fit together results in what is commonly known as an enterprise architecture. In turn, an EA provides benefits beyond technology and plays a strategic role in influencing business direction and decisions.

A Close Look at Making Crowdsourcing Effective

Crowdsourcing has become popular over the past decade in the consumer-centric business climate. It offers businesses, particularly startups and small-to-midsized companies, a pool of talented resources and experts from which to solicit services and solutions. This pool of talent provides a diverse “crowd” of people with a variety of interdisciplinary knowledge, expertise, and experience. It often includes a wide selection of customers familiar with the product(s) or service(s) that the interested business delivers or markets. A unique element of crowdsourcing is the requirement for the resources to connect over the Internet or via a network in order to participate in the initiative. Moreover, since crowdsourcing is not restricted to a specific team of resources, as in the case of outsourcing, its resources can be located anywhere in the world.
